Shout out to my sweet friend Laura, who told me last night “you need to write about this.” I did it for you, boo.
Well, my time at The Messenger has come to an end. And it didn’t happen like it would in a dream, it was very much a nightmare.
The New York Times was the first to break the news. Not our owner. The New York Times.
I am not one to make statements to the media, and I am sure many in the media will want the statements from us ex-pats of Mr. Finklestein’s failed experiment/plaything whatever he wanted it to be.
My friend and beloved coworker, Jensen, sums it up in an adorable way that only she can:
So this is my only statement on the matter. Actually three: a tweet on X, a TikTok and a LinkedIn post. Feel free to cite these. My energies will be focused on the future, and helping those on my team who are now displaced find their next gigs — and my own as well.
Shout out to Neetzan Zimmerman and Brooke Seipel for bringing me along for the ride. Y’all hired well. We didn’t fail — they failed us.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I am going to try to file for unemployment. I’ll be back✌🏾
