The Needy Girl Boss's List of Things I Loved From the Weekend
✨ The whole weekend was a true "hurkle-durkle" ✨
😘 Happiest of Mondays, my loves. 😘
Favorite Meme — Weekend Edition
I hope y’all had a restful few days with your laptops slammed shut, beer in hand, living your best St. Patrick’s Day lives. I love it when it falls on a weekend.
As I approach my love’s birthday week (he would celebrate the whole month by being showered with gifts, honestly. He’s a bougie man), I took this weekend to “relax, relate, release:”
📚 I finished two books: I started one on my iPad Thursday night and another paperback on Friday.
The Needy Girl Boss ✨HIGHLY RECOMMENDS✨ Barbarian’s Prize by Ruby Dixon. I couldn’t put it down.
😴 I am the queen of the hurkle durkle: For those new to the program, this is a good time to mention that I have had a long-time love affair with the country of Scotland. It’s landscape, its culture, its charming cities large and small, it’s history, and that fucking accent. MY GOD. I have long predicted that the man I am meant to marry is Scottish. Or at least Scottish in heritage. I think this is why I love gingers. My soul knows what I am supposed to have in this life.
🤨 DYK the Scottish word for “chilling” is “hurkle durkle"? Well, technically, “hurkle-durkle” means the following, according to Wondermind:
This is an actual word though—not a thing made up by the internet: The origin of the (most perfect) phrase (in existence) dates back to the 1800s in Scotland. To hurkle durkle means “to lie in bed or lounge about when one should be up and about,” according to the Dictionaries of the Scots Language.
Why can’t I be the queen of a more consistent workout regimen?

🛟 An Instagram Post that’s spicy and informative 🌶️🎓: I hope I haven’t scared too many readers away — or turned anyone off — from this Substack. It gets a little NSFW from…post to post. I did start this space to have a good spot to dissect my next moves, what type of writing brings me joy, and test out what I think I can get away with.
Many have probably noticed my Instagram posts have gotten moderately raunchy. There is no shame on my end for sure — I’m grown. Most know I am relentlessly trying to find the right amount of endorphins and serotonin to keep me in a good mood.
Additionally, you’re not the only person I’ve freaked out in my lifetime:
All that to say: since I am diving into romance and erotica, I love sharing and saving posts that help readers get more comfortable during their explorations. I have found such a fun, exciting, caring community in the fan girlies of Quinn — also known as “Quinnlings” — and they are just as wild as me.
I saw this post and had to link it out (it won’t let me embed it!) — for those new to erotica and audio erotica especially — it is a helpful post to bookmark.
