π£ A T-Time In A TikTok
ππΎ And a prayer that the government doesn't block US usage of my video rant space
I deleted my Snapchat a few weeks back. Letβs just say the past can return and can be a bad look.
That left a gaping hole in the world for my infamous T Times, which I call my rants and storytimes about many things, mostly, my ravings against whatever has aggrieved me at that moment in time.
Well, I have moved my T Times to TikTok β and it was my first video on the clock app in a few weeks. (I also have NO CLUE why the video is upside down in the back end of this video, butβ¦).
Hereβs hoping TikTok is here for the long haul.
Some of my favorite T Times revolved around online dating, which given my track record of being in relationships for 10 years, 4 years, and just completing 3 years respectfully, I am not good at. I like to meet dude, fall in love with dude, and let him slowly disappoint me over time. The good thing about my current honey bunny is he hasnβt done the latter. I reckon I can still give him time to let him see that I am a loon.
But erasing my Snapchat made me delete other things β Evan Speigel, who is the CEO of Snapchat (and Miranda Kerrβs husband? I missed that!), has a sister named Caroline. Caroline runs the popular erotic audio app named Quinn. Not gonna lie, I have been on Quinn for nearly two years and its lack of diversity (yes, I love white men, this has been documented, but I donβt only want to hear white dudes with white women, thatβs frustrating) and it hurt when I deleted the app and canceled my year-long subscription over the weekend. I am in a group of black women Quinn lovers and between chats about life and how dope our group is, we lament how the lack of representation is getting to us. Some of the homies are doing dope activism, and I support them 100 percent.
Especially in the last few weeks with Quinn dropping an internet safety month message and using their voice actors to present such a message undermines the safety youβre attempting to put forth. I tried to apply to Quinn for two jobs in the last year. Had they only given a sister a call backβ¦
I am just going to pick back up with writing my own content β maybe VAing it. I DID go to school for itβ¦
Todayβs Presented Without Comment
James and Fuhad, I was rooting for you. We were all rooting for you. Yβall let Andrew Schulz use and abuse yβall.
When are we going to let folks put us in these situations where βfight or flightβ is the only thing we can remember? Yβall could have walked out.
Tβs Tasty Tune of the Week
Weβre kicking it country this week and I just got two new tattoos on 9/7. I am already plotting my next onesβ¦
π§ And donβt forget The Needy Girl playlist on Spotify.
Thatβsβ¦all I have for today? Yeah. Thatβll do it βπΎ
James and Fuhad. Ugh. I was entertained for a minute; I should have known better. Regarding Quinn. *deep sigh* I love so many of the creators, as a new listener, I think I'm still having fun, but I think the wall you hit is pretty inevitable. I think the DIY is going to be the move for a lot of folks in the long run who aren't finding what they need in the app.
